Artist Augustė Daškevičiūtė was born in 1992 in Kaunas. She has been actively creating since 2020, participating in painting plein airs and group exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.

“Painting is the transformation of emotions into colors, movements, gestures, and forms. In abstraction, I sometimes long for something more tangible, recognizable, and grounding. Most often - a puddle or a lake, which reflect the multilayered sensitivities of existence. For me, painting is a constant search. It helps me to see, to understand, to get lost in discoveries, and then to realize once again that I know nothing.” the artist shares.

About this artwork+

The painting displays an abstract and vibrant composition dominated by bold, expressive brush strokes. Deep and warm reds intersect and overlap with streaks of green, yellow, black, and blue, suggesting a complex layering or weaving of elements. Centrally, hints of a window-like structure emerge through calmer blue and gray shades, almost obscured by the dynamic flurry of other colors surrounding it. The image invokes a sense of looking through a fragmented or distorted window, where the view is obstructed and altered by the thickness and motion of colors. The overall texture is thick and palpable, enhancing the painting's emotive impact.
