Artist Augustė Daškevičiūtė was born in 1992 in Kaunas. She has been actively creating since 2020, participating in painting plein airs and group exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.
“Painting is the transformation of emotions into colors, movements, gestures, and forms. In abstraction, I sometimes long for something more tangible, recognizable, and grounding. Most often - a puddle or a lake, which reflect the multilayered sensitivities of existence. For me, painting is a constant search. It helps me to see, to understand, to get lost in discoveries, and then to realize once again that I know nothing.” the artist shares.
About this artwork+
The painting is bold and vibrant. A large red area dominates the center. It looks like a red lake. Surrounding this are dark blues and purples. They create strong contrasts. Touches of yellow and pink appear at the edges. These colors add warmth. A small structure sits on the horizon. It seems distant and calm. The style is expressive. Augustė Daškevičiūtė uses broad, confident brushstrokes. The work feels alive and energetic. The colors clash and blend beautifully. It's a striking piece that captures attention immediately.
