Diana Timonina is an artist whose life has always been closely connected to creativity and art. Surrounded by creative people from an early age, she attended both an art school and an art studio during her formative years. Her enduring appreciation for visual aesthetics ultimately led her to pursue architecture, a field that remains her main profession and continues to inspire her artistic work.

For a time, Diana set aside drawing and painting to focus on other interests, causing her hands-on involvement with art to wane. This hiatus lasted until about five years ago. Amid the routines of motherhood, she rekindled her passion for art. Returning to her paints and brushes marked a turning point for Diana; she found herself drawn to watercolour, enchanted by its delicacy, clarity, and spontaneous nature.

Klaipėda, the city where Diana was born, occupies a special place in her affections and frequently appears as a motif in her art. She discovers inspiration and beauty in the scenes of Klaipėda, its lively port, and the peaceful coastline. The local landscapes often feature in her paintings, revealing her profound attachment to the place she calls home.

Travel is another powerful influence on Diana’s creativity. The encounters and impressions she gathers from journeys across the globe regularly shape her artistic vision. She considers herself fortunate to be able to infuse her art with the inspiration drawn from travel, transforming scenes and memories from distant places into vivid watercolours.

About this artwork+

The artwork captures an ethereal forest scene, predominantly portraying slender, leafless trees that stretch upward into a subtle, misty background. The foreground shows richer, more vivid colors with earthy browns and greens, depicting a clearing or a path. The blend of colors hints at a moist, perhaps early morning setting, with hints of light filtering through the branches, creating a serene yet slightly somber atmosphere. The patches of blue and gray in the background suggest a cool, damp environment, enhancing the feeling of being immersed in a quiet, secluded forest. The artist's brushwork gives the forest depth and texture, making the scene appear both tranquil and alive.
