Diana Timonina is an artist whose life has always been closely connected to creativity and art. Surrounded by creative people from an early age, she attended both an art school and an art studio during her formative years. Her enduring appreciation for visual aesthetics ultimately led her to pursue architecture, a field that remains her main profession and continues to inspire her artistic work.

For a time, Diana set aside drawing and painting to focus on other interests, causing her hands-on involvement with art to wane. This hiatus lasted until about five years ago. Amid the routines of motherhood, she rekindled her passion for art. Returning to her paints and brushes marked a turning point for Diana; she found herself drawn to watercolour, enchanted by its delicacy, clarity, and spontaneous nature.

Klaipėda, the city where Diana was born, occupies a special place in her affections and frequently appears as a motif in her art. She discovers inspiration and beauty in the scenes of Klaipėda, its lively port, and the peaceful coastline. The local landscapes often feature in her paintings, revealing her profound attachment to the place she calls home.

Travel is another powerful influence on Diana’s creativity. The encounters and impressions she gathers from journeys across the globe regularly shape her artistic vision. She considers herself fortunate to be able to infuse her art with the inspiration drawn from travel, transforming scenes and memories from distant places into vivid watercolours.

About this artwork+

The painting "Light and Wind in Nida" by Diana Timonina shows a calm seaside scene. Small sailboats are gently resting by a pier. The water reflects the soft blue sky. In the background, you can see distant hills and a clear horizon. A few people stand on the pier, likely preparing the boats. The grass in the foreground sways slightly, adding a touch of movement. Timonina uses a light, airy watercolor technique. Her style captures the peaceful essence of the coastal landscape. The colors are soft and natural, giving a sense of serenity. The painting beautifully conveys the mood of a breezy, sunny day.
