Diana Timonina is an artist whose life has always been closely connected to creativity and art. Surrounded by creative people from an early age, she attended both an art school and an art studio during her formative years. Her enduring appreciation for visual aesthetics ultimately led her to pursue architecture, a field that remains her main profession and continues to inspire her artistic work.

For a time, Diana set aside drawing and painting to focus on other interests, causing her hands-on involvement with art to wane. This hiatus lasted until about five years ago. Amid the routines of motherhood, she rekindled her passion for art. Returning to her paints and brushes marked a turning point for Diana; she found herself drawn to watercolour, enchanted by its delicacy, clarity, and spontaneous nature.

Klaipėda, the city where Diana was born, occupies a special place in her affections and frequently appears as a motif in her art. She discovers inspiration and beauty in the scenes of Klaipėda, its lively port, and the peaceful coastline. The local landscapes often feature in her paintings, revealing her profound attachment to the place she calls home.

Travel is another powerful influence on Diana’s creativity. The encounters and impressions she gathers from journeys across the globe regularly shape her artistic vision. She considers herself fortunate to be able to infuse her art with the inspiration drawn from travel, transforming scenes and memories from distant places into vivid watercolours.

About this artwork+

In "The Nida Dune" by Diana Timonina, you see a vast landscape. It is calm and serene. The painting shows sandy dunes stretching into the distance. Patches of green dot the land, hinting at vegetation. Soft blues in the sky meet the horizon. The sea is a gentle presence in the background, a thin line between sand and sky. The style is delicate and fluid. Watercolor creates a dreamy and gentle atmosphere. Colors blend smoothly, capturing the peaceful essence of nature. Diana Timonina uses light and shadow skillfully. This brings depth and life to the scene. The painting feels open and inviting, like a quiet escape.
