Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

This painting features a predominantly white and gray backdrop with textured layers that suggest weathering or aging, creating a rough, almost wall-like surface. In the center, there is a burst of yellow and gold tones that stand in stark contrast to the monochromatic background. These warm hues are concentrated in a central, loosely rectangular area, with scattered patches radiating outward. The edges of this yellow area are blurred, merging softly with the surrounding grays, which gives the impression of an organic, almost glowing presence encroaching into a stark, muted space. The interplay of colors and textures conjures a sense of depth and dynamic movement, as if the central brightness is slowly spreading across the canvas.
