Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

This painting by Egidijus Dapšas is titled "Ambiguity." It mostly uses muted tones like browns, grays, and whites. The textures are rough and layered. These create a feeling of depth. In the foreground, there are dark, faded shapes. They seem to emerge from a mist. The background blends in softly, making it hard to tell where one part ends and another begins. Dapšas uses an abstract style here. It leaves much to the viewer’s interpretation. The overall mood is calm yet mysterious. The painting invites you to look closer and ponder its meaning.
