Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

This painting by Egidijus Dapšas is called "Time Line." It has an abstract style. The top part is dark with rich browns and blacks. These colors create a textured, earthy feel. There are vertical and horizontal brush strokes. It looks like layers of time or history. The bottom part is lighter. It has soft whites and greys, offering contrast. The transition between the dark and light areas is smooth. It feels like time fading away. Dapšas uses a minimalistic approach. The simplicity is calming yet thought-provoking. It invites you to ponder the passage of time.
