Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

The painting reveals a hauntingly minimalist landscape rendered in a palette of muted grays, blacks, and whites, blending into one another with subtle gradations. The upper portion of the canvas is dominated by a thick, heavy white fog or perhaps a blurred sky, using vertical strokes that give the appearance of a soft, almost rain-like descent of color. Below this ethereal white, a band of deep, murky black stretches across, suggesting a distant horizon or a dark body of water. Embedded within are delicate, ghostly imprints and strokes, adding a sense of depth and mystery. Near the bottom, the reflective quality of the surface hints at a watery plane, mirroring the diffuseness above, with sporadic, almost sketch-like marks that evoke the gentle disturbance of a liquid surface. The absence of clear forms or reference points in the painting invites the viewer into a space of contemplation and unknown, embodying its title, "Without Reference Point."
