Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

The painting presents a textured surface composed of muted gray tones overlaid with white brush strokes that create a layered, almost ethereal effect. The horizontal orientation of the strokes varies in intensity and opacity, giving depth and an abstract quality to the piece. The transitions between the layers of white and gray seem both deliberate and random, suggesting erosion or wear over time. Some areas where the darker underlayers peek through contribute to a historical or aged appearance, as if memories or the past are bleeding through an attempt to whitewash or cover them.
