Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

In the painting "Warming" by Egidijus Dapšas, there is a broad canvas dominated by soft, muted tones primarily in shades of grey and white. A subtle hint of a pale teal emerges from the lower central part of the composition, providing a gentle contrast. Most of the canvas is enveloped in a dense haze that could signify a foggy or misty environment, suggesting a cold or chilly atmosphere that aligns with the painting’s title. Across the middle stretches a darker, horizontal smear of gray that fades into the surrounding lighter areas, resembling a distant, obscured landscape or horizon line possibly reflecting early winter mornings. The textures are smooth with minimal variance, evoking a serene and somewhat melancholic mood.
