Artwork in the room
Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

About this artwork+
The painting titled "Under the Water" by Egidijus Dapšas presents a muted, ethereal underwater scene expressed in varying shades of blue, gray, and white. The composition is divided horizontally with a darker, denser mass at the lower section, suggesting a depth or perhaps a seabed, while above, the hues become lighter, evoking the sense of water lightening as it ascends toward the surface. Vertical streaks and blurred horizontal lines create a feeling of movement, as if water is swirling or flowing gently. The overall atmosphere is serene yet mysterious, inviting contemplation into the depths and complexities hidden beneath the surface.
