Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

The painting depicts a textured abstract scene dominated by a palette of muted grays and whites. An impression of horizontal lines creates an intangible horizon near the upper third of the canvas, suggesting a landscape blurred by mist or rain. The top of the painting is lighter, characterized by a broad, soft expanse of white that seems to signify vastness or perhaps the oppressiveness of time. As the eye moves downwards, the textures become more pronounced, the marks thicker and more chaotic, resembling weathered surfaces or dripping streaks that evoke a sense of decay and the passing of time. Below, darker patches sporadically interspersed imply shadows or deep voids, adding a solemn depth to the composition. The lower regions appear more agitated, where the paint seems to have been applied more liberally, evoking a feeling of disturbance or emotional unrest.
