Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

This painting evokes the dense, atmospheric quality of a rain-saturated landscape. The color palette is subdued, primarily composed of grays, blacks, and hints of white. Brush strokes are visible and seem to sweep across the canvas, suggesting the movement of rain or mist. The painting plays with the depth of field, blurring certain areas and bringing others into soft focus which mimics the way objects appear under a deluge of rain. The lower part of the painting is lighter, almost reminiscent of a reflection in water, suggesting a flooded terrain or a body of water swollen with rain. Flecks and splatters of paint across this region suggest raindrops impacting the surface, disturbing the placid grey tones with lighter, almost silvery splashes. These elements all combine to create an ethereal and transient quality, as if viewing this scene through a curtain of rain, inhaling the crisp, moist air that pervades after a storm.
