Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting displays an abstract blend of colors and textures that convey a sense of transformation and flux. Dominated by a palette of grey, white, black, and hints of earthy browns and vibrant reds, the composition creates a visceral impression of shifting forms. The colors seem to cascade down the canvas, creating streaks and splatters that suggest motion and the passage of time. Some areas of the painting are thickly layered, providing a tactile sense of depth, while others are more translucent, allowing the colors to blend and bleed into one another. This interplay of opacity and transparency enhances the feeling of ongoing change. The overall effect is both dynamic and enigmatic, inviting the viewer to contemplate the nature of transformation and the endless possibilities inherent in the process.
