Artwork in the room
Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

About this artwork+
This painting by Egidijus Dapšas, titled "The Effect of Time," portrays a compelling scene. The artwork features a muted color palette, blending grays and browns. At the center, there are two rectangular forms that resemble windows or doorways suggesting depth and a glimpse into another space or time. These forms stand out against the more blurred and indistinct background. The style is abstract and textured. Dapšas uses layering techniques that give the painting a sense of erosion or decay, fitting the theme of the influence of time. It evokes feelings of nostalgia and impermanence. Egidijus Dapšas has a knack for creating visuals that make you think and feel deeply about the passage of time and the transient nature of reality.
