Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting predominantly features a tranquil, somber palette of grays and muted blues, creating a sense of serenity and depth. It portrays a landscape, possibly a vast expanse of water bordered by a distant horizon. The top section hints at a subdued sky, possibly overcast, blending seamlessly into the horizon. Below this, the landscape features what may be reflections on water, suggested by the vertical streaks that resemble rain or drips, lending a textural quality to the scene. These strokes also infuse the artwork with a dynamic element, as if the scenery is constantly changing or as if veiled by a curtain of rain. The overall effect is atmospheric, evoking a sense of quiet introspection and the enormity of nature.
