Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

The painting presents a highly textured surface dominated by subdued grays and blacks, with sporadic hints of white and a suggestion of red that both enlivens and interrupts the otherwise monochrome palette. The composition seems almost like an abstract landscape of layers, as if depicting a scene shrouded in mist or a sweeping view of a stormy sea under a tumultuous sky. The strokes appear dynamic and rugged, suggesting movement and blending, conveying a sense of chaos being slowly ordered or the very act of creation as something emergent and fluid. Subtle linear elements that could be interpreted as horizon lines or distant forms contribute to an impression of expansive space and depth.
