Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

This painting, titled "Stone Age" by Egidijus Dapšas, features a textured and layered surface. It's dominated by grays and whites. The brush strokes are rough, creating a sense of depth and ruggedness, similar to the surface of a stone. The artwork feels raw and elemental. Egidijus Dapšas employs a minimalist style here. The simplicity of the color palette and the complexity of the textures combine to evoke a primordial vibe, reminiscent of ancient rock surfaces. It's quite abstract, leaving much to the viewer's interpretation. This style might suggest themes of endurance, nature, or the passage of time. The use of texture and minimal color effectively creates a mysterious and ancient atmosphere, fitting for the title "Stone Age."
