Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

The painting presents a contrast of textures and colors in a vertical format. On the left side, darkness dominates with deep black and brown hues, enriched by what appears to be rough, almost corroded textures that suggest wear or decay. This black area is gritty and complex, interspersed with minuscule flecks of white that break up the monochrome. Transitioning towards the right, the colors shift to shades of gray and white. This side shows a smoother texture, though it retains a tactile complexity with thick, impasto strokes of white paint overlaying a lighter base. The interaction between these two halves creates a dynamic tension, where the harshness of the dark side contrasts sharply with the serene, almost cleansing qualities of the light side. The middle region where these two opposites meet is slightly blended, suggesting a delicate, almost imperceptible merging that adds depth and a sense of mystery to the painting.
