Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

This painting by Egidijus Dapšas, titled "Point Made," strikes with its stark simplicity and elegance. It features a largely monochromatic palette of whites and beiges. The textural canvas is divided into uneven segments by subtle lines and cracks. A small, bold dash of red stands alone near the center, drawing the viewer’s eye. This little splash of color breaks the otherwise muted tones and adds a sharp visual focus. Egidijus Dapšas employs a minimalist style. He plays with texture and a very limited color scheme to evoke depth and emotion. This technique invites the viewer to find meaning in the simplicity and isolation of the red mark. Each element in this work, despite being understated, is impactful, illustrating the artist’s skill at conveying powerful messages with minimal means.
