Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting presents a serene, largely monochromatic palette dominated by greys and blacks, evoking a sense of depth and quietude. It features a hazily defined horizon line, subtly separating a lighter upper section, reminiscent of a foggy sky or a lightly disturbed water surface, from a denser, darker lower section that suggests a reflective, shadowy waterline or a landscape. The textures appear layered, creating an interplay of shadow and light that shifts from vertical streaks to horizontal brushwork, suggesting gentle movement and tranquility. The minimalistic appearance of the work conjures a meditative quality, inviting the viewer to contemplation.
