Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

The painting depicts a layered, textured abstract composition primarily in shades of black, grey, and blue. The top section features a dark, almost black area with what appears to be faded or chipped paint, creating a sense of decay or erosion. Below this, the gray tones become lighter and more varied, suggesting depth and complexity through horizontal striations and subtle shifts in hue. This middle zone blends textured brush strokes with washed effects, adding to the chaotic yet organized feel. The lower section darkens once more, grounding the piece with a solid, dense black area that seems to anchor the lighter, more tumultuous regions above. Throughout the painting, there's an interplay of light and shadow, matte and sheen surfaces, contributing to an overall feeling of dynamic yet controlled disarray.
