Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

The painting features a vertical composition divided roughly into two distinct horizontal sections. The top portion is dominated by dark, mottled tones of black and brown, with streaks and patches resembling corrosion or decay. This darker area seems weathered, suggesting an organic process of aging or exposure, and imparts a heavy, brooding atmosphere. In contrast, the bottom half of the canvas is much lighter, predominantly filled with shades of gray and white. This section appears smoother but is marked by subtle horizontal lines and variations in tone that give it a textured look, akin to a faded piece of fabric or a frost-covered surface. The interaction between these two sections creates a stark boundary that may evoke feelings of contrast between decay and purity, or chaos and calm. The entire composition adheres to a minimalist palette, relying on texture and tonal contrast to convey depth and emotion.
