Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

The painting presents a textured, abstract landscape divided into horizontal bands. The uppermost part suggests a somber sky rendered in dark greys and muted browns, streaked with white, suggesting light breaking through a clouded expanse. Beneath this, a large section employs a palette of grey, black, and white, and is intersected by vertical lines that create a feeling of a barrier or fence, hinting at man-made structures semi-obscured by mist or rain. The sense of enclosure is deepened by specks of white and lighter grey, possibly evoking distant lights or reflections in water, dispersed irregularly as if seen through a filter of heavy precipitation. The lower third of the composition is dominated by lighter greys, giving the impression of a reflective surface, such as a water body, completing the overall moody and atmospheric scene that blurs the lines between natural and geometric elements. The entire scene is overlaid with a drip and decay effect, suggesting both the erosive passage of time and the weathering of elements.
