Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting "Morning Fog" embodies a serene and abstract representation of a landscape gripped by fog. The canvas is suffused with a palette of cool grays, whites, and muted blues, subtly intermingling to evoke the moisture-laden atmosphere of early morning. Vertical forms, suggesting the silhouettes of trees or perhaps the lingering rain, stretch across the surface. These forms are softened and blurred, enhancing the effect of depth and the ephemeral quality of fog. The layering of paint and the textural nuances contribute to the overall sense of tranquility and the fleeting moment captured within the painting.
