Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.
The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.
Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

The artwork presents a deeply textured composition of somber tones, primarily in dark browns and gentle grays, evoking a sense of age and wear. At the upper part of the canvas, a pale, almost white horizontal streak suggests a distant horizon, reminiscent of the soft glow cast by moonlight. This band is interrupted by patches of rough, darker overlays, which mimic the appearance of dense cloud cover or a rugged natural landscape seen from afar. Below this, the tones deepen to a rich, dark brown that dominates much of the lower canvas. There’s a muted luminescence that permeates the scene, creating an ethereal and almost melancholic atmosphere. Subtle hints of lighter patches appear sporadically, suggesting both erosion and the elusive dance of light across a varied terrain. The composition encourages a feeling of solitude and contemplation, as if one is gazing into a vast expanse under the enveloping cover of night.
