Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting features an abstract representation, predominantly in shades of grey, white, and black, creating a muted and misty atmosphere. The application of paint varies in density and texture, suggesting both fluidity and obstruction, reminiscent of fog dissolving or shifting to reveal obscured forms. There appears to be vertical lines and streaks that could be interpreted as rain or condensation, enhancing the feeling of a damp, foggy environment. The darker patches and spots give the composition depth, possibly hinting at shadowed objects or figures lurking within the fog. The overall effect is both serene and slightly melancholic, capturing the transient and elusive nature of fog.
