Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

In the painting, there is a muted and serene landscape depicted through an abstract lens. The color palette is dominated by soft grays and blues, with a hint of earthy tones toward the center. The composition is separated horizontally into layers that suggest the elements of a faded, perhaps rainy, seascape or skyscape. The upper part of the artwork features darker shades, possibly representing a stormy sky, while the middle section transitions into lighter gray, blending into a pale blue at the bottom, which could be interpreted as the sea or a mist-covered ground. The overall effect evokes a sense of calmness and melancholy, as if observing the remnants of something once present, now washed away. The painting carries an ethereal quality, with the soft, broad brushstrokes contributing to a texture that feels both fluid and airy.
