Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting titled "Flow" by Egidijus Dapšas features an abstract composition dominated by horizontal stripes which vary in thickness, texture, and color intensity. The palette is mostly monochromatic shades of gray and white, interspersed with bold lines of black and understated hints of gold and brown. The brushstrokes are broad and dynamic, some areas showing heavy layering and others appearing more washed out, creating a sense of movement and depth. The overall feel is one of fluid motion and natural elements, possibly evoking the imagery of a weathered landscape or the ocean’s tumultuous waves.
