Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting presents a minimalist landscape dominated by horizontal bands of soft whites, grays, and earthy browns that blend seamlessly into one another. The texture appears uneven, with areas of the canvas showing a rough, almost gritty quality that contrasts sharply with others that are smoother and more reflective. A prominent feature of the artwork is a dark, rusty brown streak near the bottom, suggesting an organic form that could be interpreted as the earth or a distant horizon. This element introduces a sense of grounding to the otherwise ethereal and abstract composition. The overall effect evokes a serene and contemplative mood, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect. The use of muted, natural colors further enhances the painting's tranquil and soothing atmosphere.
