Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting presents a minimalist abstract composition primarily employing shades of white and grey, with subtle graduations that suggest depth and texture. There is a prominent, diffused blotch of darker grey towards the bottom left that seems to anchor the composition, while other faint grey smudges and streaks appear dispersed across the canvas. Vertical traces of a darker tone run along the right margin, introducing a sense of imbalance or motion. The overall effect is ethereal and tranquil, hinting at isolation or a serene detachment. The canvas is marked by faint, gentle strokes and patches, which provide a sense of movement within the restrained color palette.
