Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting depicts a dense forest enveloped in a veil of mist or possibly rain, portrayed with vertical strokes of grays, whites, and subtle earth tones that suggest the trunks and fleeting forms of trees. The forest seems to recede into a foggy, indistinct background, creating an impression of depth and mystery. At the bottom, glimpses of dark, warm hues peek through, hinting at the forest floor or perhaps the last light of an evening filtering through. The overall atmosphere is serene yet slightly melancholic, evoking the quiet and subdued mood of an evening in a secluded woodland.
