Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.
During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

About this artwork+
The painting titled "Crumbling" by Egidijus Dapšas presents a textured surface that resembles a decaying wall. It features a mix of gray, white, and beige tones, speckled with patches of missing plaster or paint. This gives the impression of an old, worn surface, invoking feelings of decay and the passage of time. Dapšas uses a style that seems minimalist yet deeply intricate because of the texture detail. The artwork focuses on capturing the essence of material breakdown. This style often draws viewers in to reflect on themes of deterioration, history, and the impact of time on physical materials. Egidijus Dapšas' technique of allowing the medium to speak for itself through simple yet powerful visual elements is evident here, showcasing his ability to convey deep messages subtly.
