Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting presents a tranquil, abstract landscape dominated by horizontal layering, evoking the serenity of a distant horizon. Shades of gray, white, and deep brown meld together, creating a sense of depth and subtlety. The ethereal play of light and shadow suggests different times of day or atmospheric conditions, with a soft impression of what could be a watery reflection or mist at the lower part of the canvas. The texture appears rugged and weathered, alluding to natural elements like earth, stone, or water-worn surfaces. The artist’s technique with the layers gives the painting an almost tactile quality, inviting one to feel the cool, damp air or the roughness of the aged textures.
