Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting appears as a serene, abstract landscape, shades predominantly in whites and grays with subtle hints of earthy browns, creating an atmospheric depth. The upper part of the canvas is dominated by a soft white and gray mist, suggesting a distance that is gentle yet vast. Streaks of white, perhaps reminiscent of rain, vertically traverse the surface, connecting the foreboding gray overtones with whisper-like strokes of deeper tones below. Layered textures give the piece a tactile ambiguity, with soft overlays reminiscent of fog or smoke, enhancing the mysterious essence suggested by the title. This artwork might evoke a sense of introspection or the contemplation of mystic realms, as the abstract elements favor emotional resonance over literal representation.
