Since childhood, drawing has captivated me; even my math and other school notebooks were always covered with various sketches—much to the dismay of my teachers, who rarely praised me for it. After completing my art studies, I became a professional artist, but after a few years, life led me away from the heart of the art world.

During this lengthy period away from my artistic path, I constantly reassured myself that I would one day return. Now, that time has come, and I find myself once again immersed in creativity and the world of art.

The artist has held several solo exhibitions and takes part in group exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad. Through these events, the public has had opportunities to experience and appreciate a distinctive artistic vision developed over many years.

Works by Egidijus Dapšas have also found their way to private art collectors both in Lithuania and internationally. This growing interest among collectors speaks to the recognition and appreciation received at home and beyond.

About this artwork+

The painting presents a textured abstract landscape, predominantly using a palette of muted blues, grays, and browns. The background seems to layer shades of gray over white, infused subtly with light blue, creating an effect of depth and softness. Across this soft-focus background, vertical streaks and dribbles of darker brown and rust hues stretch downward, suggesting rain or the natural weathering effects on a surface. Closer inspection reveals intricate textural details, tiny scribbles, and raised effects that catch the eye, adding an element of tactile dimensionality. These details could evoke sensations of translucence, mist, or decay, leaving the interpretation open and contemplative, resonant with the painting's title, "A Little Bit About Nothing." The piece feels calm yet somber, with its cool tones and descending lines creating a melancholic ambiance.
