Through this careful structure, her works invite the viewer into an experience of curiosity and exploration.
Nature holds a place of central importance in Akelienė’s inspiration. Her artworks draw from the colors, abundance, and diversity found in nature, with recurring motifs such as plants and birds. In this way, she expresses her fascination with the vitality and multiplicity present in the natural world.

About this artwork+
The painting depicts a large, intricately detailed flower, predominately lavender in color with tinges of pink and subtle green highlights. The flower's petals are thick, layered, and appear soft to the touch, bending gently towards various directions, which gives it a dynamic and somewhat wilted look. The center of the flower is exposed, showcasing its deep pink, seed-studded heart, encased partially by a dark, greenish protective shell which appears to be part of its stem or another leaf. The background is a muted mix of dark and light greens, which provides a stark contrast that further accentuates the delicate yet vivid colors of the flower itself. The overall feel is one of natural elegance and delicate decay.
