About this artwork+
In the painting titled "Parrot" by Živilė Akelienė, a vibrant parrot is depicted sitting among lush flowers. The parrot's feathers are in shades of blue and grey, with some dark hues around the head. Below the bird, a cluster of colorful flowers adds a soft contrast. These flowers range in colors from whites and pinks to purples and greens, creating a rich tapestry of textures. The style of the painting is quite detailed and seems to evoke a sense of realism mixed with a touch of the fantastical, through the dreamy, soft-focus background that almost looks misty. The brushwork is delicate, effectively capturing the fine details of both the bird and the blooms. Živilė Akelienė's approach here reflects her skill in blending realism with a poetic, almost ethereal quality, making ordinary subjects appear enchanted. The frame around the painting is ornate, with a rustic gold finish that complements the artwork beautifully, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal.
