Our main goal is to help you find the one artwork that truly fits and delights you — it is an object that will decorate your home for a long time and will eventually be passed on to future generations.

Although by law works of art cannot be returned (the seller's consent is required), don't worry — if you have doubts within 30 days of the purchase date, contact us: we will take the work back and refund your money, or offer you to choose another one from our art platform!

Rūta Burbulė is a Lithuanian artist whose relationship with art has been enduring since her early years. She is a graduate of both the Vilnius Justinas Vienožinskis Art School and the highly regarded National M.K. Čiurlionis Art Gymnasium, where she specialized in painting. Later, Rūta completed her master’s thesis in Art Education, and for over ten years, she has been imparting her knowledge as a teacher in a range of public and private institutions.

It was fifteen years ago that Rūta came upon silk painting quite unexpectedly. Her initial experiment—painting a small scarf—soon turned into a passionate pursuit that continues to be at the core of her creative practice. The act of painting on silk brings her both relaxation and space for experimentation, as every piece is guided by her curiosity and innovative spirit. Through the years, she has created diverse silk artworks, such as accessories, scarves, shawls, ties, dresses, curtains, and expansive paintings, unveiling several distinctive collections of garments painted on silk.

Beyond her artistic abilities, Rūta Burbulė is also recognized for her influence within Lithuania’s silk painting community. She led the Lithuanian Silk Painting Association as its President from 2015 to 2018 and continues to participate actively as a member. Among her accomplishments is a win at the International Silk Painting Competition in France, underscoring her dedication and international standing in the field.

Besides her roles as an artist and teacher, Rūta is involved in a variety of artistic initiatives, performances, and exhibitions. She has mounted eight solo exhibitions and taken part in more than twenty group shows. Today, she pursues her artistic endeavors at the Druskininkai Craft Centre "Menų kalvė", where she remains fully engaged in creative projects and community involvement.

About this artwork+

The painting captures a vibrant, nearly ethereal scene centered around a grove of slender trees. These trees, with trunks dark and winding, bear canopies dappled in vivid shades of yellow and gold, suggesting an autumnal setting. The leaves are applied with a loose, almost splattered effect, creating an impressionistic feel of foliage fluttering in the breeze. Beneath these trees, the ground is a fusion of earthy browns and subtle plum hues, perhaps hinting at fallen leaves and the rich, fertile earth. In the foreground, a serene body of water in shades of deep and light blue stretches across the scene, reflecting the trees and the sky above. This body of water radiates tranquility and adds a cool counterbalance to the warm tones of the foliage. The background is awash with a soft, misty gradient of blues, lavenders, and gentle greens, giving the impression of a spacious sky or a distant vista fading into the horizon. Patches of lighter colors near the water suggest reflections or light filtering through a mist. Overall, the painting evokes a sense of peaceful solitude and natural beauty, inviting the viewer to lose themselves in the contemplative quietude of this imagined landscape.
