Natalija Ranceva is an artist whose artistic journey began in her childhood, marked by an innate affinity for creative expression. While she initially devoted herself to the exact sciences, her trajectory shifted significantly when her daughter entered art school—an event that rekindled Natalija’s own enthusiasm for art and inspired her to pursue it with genuine commitment.
In 2018, Natalija graduated from the adults programme at Vilnius Justinas Vienožinskis Art School, an experience that profoundly influenced her methods of artistic creation. This formal training equipped her with essential techniques and skills, enabling her to delve deeper into her creative instincts and cultivate her distinctive style.
Natalija’s approach to art is defined by ongoing self-discovery. She delights in exploring diverse techniques and has not confined herself to any particular medium or style, believing that her artistic decisions fluctuate according to her emotional state. This adaptability enables her to embrace new possibilities and to express multiple dimensions of her inner life.
Taking inspiration from the world around her, Natalija maintains that authentic art conveys personal experience. Through her artistic work, she aims to share her uncertainties, revelations, moments of awe, and steadfast convictions, inviting viewers to engage with the richness of her emotional and creative experience.
About this artwork+
The painting captures a single leaf delicately adhered to a wet glass surface, as seen from inside looking out. The leaf, detailed with intricate veins and a slightly curled edge, appears to be that of a birch or similar tree, caught in a moment of stillness against the pane. Surrounding it, the glass is streaked with numerous raindrops, varying in size and shape, reflecting light and creating a shimmering effect. These droplets accumulate and meander down the surface, suggestive of a gentle yet persistent rainfall outside. The overall monochromatic tone imparts a somber, reflective mood, emphasizing the textures and subtle contrasts between the natural element and its barrier.
