About this artwork+
This painting captures a serene landscape. A river curves through the scene, flanked by a rugged riverbank. On the bank, tall, thin trees stretch towards the sky. Some are leafless, creating striking silhouettes against the luminous backdrop. The contrasts are vivid under a deep blue sky that fades into lighter hues near the horizon. Laura Aitmanė uses bold brushstrokes and a rich color palette in "A Glimmer of Light". Earthy tones mix with deep blues and greens, reflecting the natural world's diverse textures and colors. Her style appears influenced by expressionism, emphasizing mood and emotion through color and technique. The painting evokes a sense of tranquility and the stark beauty of a woodland scene at dusk or dawn, where light begins to break through the darkness. Aitmanė's work invites viewers to appreciate fleeting moments of natural beauty.
