About this artwork+
This painting shows a dense forest. Many tall trees stand close together. Their trunks are thick and streaked with browns and grays. Leaves peek through in shades of green. The forest floor is carpeted with reddish-brown leaves. This artwork uses watercolors. The colors are earthy. The painting style is loose, giving a sense of life and natural chaos. Justina Česnauskaitė captures the wild, untamed feel of an old-growth forest beautifully. She uses quick, confident brushstrokes. This style gives the scene vibrancy and a feeling of being right there in the forest.
