The artist from Lithuania, Kaunas creates paintings centered on realistically depicted natural landscapes while exploring new and distinctive approaches to representation through stylization and abstraction, conveying the diversity of nature. Nature remains the artist’s primary source of inspiration; within it, she seeks silence, light, subtle color transitions, and fleeting moments that often escape the everyday gaze. Each painting invites a pause—a slowing of the gaze and an act of attentive looking. Within this stillness emerge a sense of calm and spaciousness, alongside an awareness of nature’s continuous change.

Since 2017, Daiva Nevardauskienė has been actively engaged in artistic practice. She regularly participates in plein-air sessions and group exhibitions, including international ones, and actively encourages drawing from life by organizing creative workshops and community plein-air events such as „Drawing the Nemunas“ in Kaunas.

The artist has held 25 solo exhibitions and participated in over 20 group exhibitions.

About this artwork+

This painting by Daiva Nevardauskienė is called "Winter Trees." You see a calm, snowy landscape. A small stream or river flows through the scene. Its surface reflects the pale winter sky and the trees. The banks are covered with snow. Some grass pokes through, brown and dry. In the background, trees stand tall. They seem bare and cold. The light is soft and muted. It feels peaceful and quiet, almost serene. Nevardauskienė uses gentle brushstrokes. The colors are cool, with blues and grays. This gives a sense of chill and tranquility. The style captures the essence of winter beautifully. The overall effect is natural and calming.
