Benas Liandzbergis 2022 finished Master's studies at the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts, Dept. of Embedded Art (formerly Fresco/Mosaic).

"Creativity is a constant transformation with which I change as well, so the works are very diverse. In the works, I use irony, sarcasm, and paradoxes as my main tools, although one should not get attached to these words. I ask questions about myself, society, our collective choices and how they affect us in the long run. I also record personal experiences that happened or are happening, looking for fragments of everyday life."

About this artwork+

The painting "Sad Light" by Benas Liandzbergis shows a tall tower. It's the central focus. The tower has a dark entrance and a silhouette of a head. Above the tower, three large blue emoji faces float. They express sadness and tears. The background is a light, soft color. The style is a blend of surreal and modern. It combines realistic and abstract elements. The emojis add a pop-art feel. The simplicity of forms makes it striking. Liandzbergis uses minimal details to create strong emotions. The painting feels both mysterious and expressive.
