Arūnas Miliukas is an artist who was born in Vilnius and continues to create his works there. Known for his unique and imaginative style, he has established a notable presence in Lithuania's contemporary art scene.

His work is consistently inventive and unexpected; through his vivid imagination, he brings to life extraterrestrial beings within his paintings, seamlessly blending myth, fantasy, and reality. Delicate colors and a misty atmosphere prompt viewers to wonder if they are immersed in a nighttime dream. His art merges humanity’s deepest questions and reflections: What are our origins? Where do we exist? What is truly real in our lives? Could it be that life, or our world itself, is nothing more than a dream?

Since 1997, the artist has participated in exhibitions across a range of venues, including Vilnius, Amsterdam, Holon (Israel), and Malmö (Sweden). These exhibitions have introduced his work to diverse audiences from various cultures and artistic backgrounds.

The individuality of Arūnas Miliukas’s art has attracted private collectors within Lithuania as well as from abroad, including countries like Canada, the USA, France, Israel, Sweden, and Australia. His creations continue to fascinate and inspire contemplation among viewers worldwide.

About this artwork+

The painting vividly portrays an urban evening landscape under a dramatic sky brushed with streaks of blue and violet, hinting at the fading light of day. Below this dynamic sky, a city skyline emerges with silhouetted buildings and spires suggesting an old European city. The structures are rendered in a mix of earthy and pastel hues, contributing to a gentle yet melancholic cityscape. In the foreground, a body of water reflects the twilight sky and city lights, with visible strokes of dark blue and white highlighting the gentle ripples and flow of the water. Flecks of orange and yellow near the horizon suggest the presence of lit windows and streetlights, adding a warm, lived-in feeling to the scene. The overall mood is one of serene dusk, where the busyness of day transitions into the tranquil embrace of evening.
