Alexander Mikhaylov is a conceptual artist who combines traditional and contemporary techniques in his work. Drawing on more than 25 years of experience in design and illustration, he uses oil and acrylic as his main mediums, experimenting with various techniques and materials such as gold and copper. Through brushes and a palette knife, he achieves rich depth and texture.

His style balances urban realism with allegorical symbolism. Strongly influenced by his background in design, his works often feature landscapes, heightened meanings and imagery, and a vivid play of form and color. His art speaks in the language of form, perspective, and tone, expressing freedom and a constant desire to explore and push creative boundaries.

About this artwork+

The painting shows a peaceful landscape scene centered around a bright blue boat lying upside down on the shore. It's surrounded by vibrant, lush green vegetation and the glittering surface of a lake under a cloudy sky. Distant hills loom on the horizon. Alexander Mikhaylov uses an impressionistic style here. His brushstrokes are loose and expressive. They create a vivid, almost textured look. Colors blend softly, which gives the scene an ethereal quality. This technique captures the light and atmosphere of spring beautifully. Mikhaylov's choice of colors and the way he handles light add a freshness to the scene. The blue of the boat is particularly striking against the natural hues. This creates a focal point that draws the eye.
