About the artist
The inner journey also takes place in the landscape. Space does not end, does not close. I always try to leave room for the wind, the movement of the gaze and the imagination of the viewer.“
Jolita Šlepetienė (born 1968) is an artist who works across painting, ceramics, and photography. She expresses her artistic vision through various mediums, employing both contemporary and traditional techniques to realize her ideas.
Her paintings stand out for their gentle pastel tones and a layered methodology. By applying this method, she uncovers delicate nuances and evokes a feeling of depth and movement, capturing transient moments. She is adept with both acrylic and oil paints, skillfully adjusting her approach to communicate mood and emotion.
Jolita Šlepetienė has presented numerous solo exhibitions and has taken part in international plein-air events and ceramic symposia. These experiences have allowed her to present her work to broader audiences and to collaborate with other artists in a variety of creative contexts.
The landscape plays a central role in her art, functioning as both a motif and a symbol of her internal journey. She deliberately incorporates empty spaces in her works—areas for wind and motion, as well as room for the viewer's imagination to explore—keeping her pieces open and inviting.
