Zita Virginija Jusevičiūtė-Tarasevičienė is a professional painter living and creating in Kaunas, holding the official status of an Art Creator. She began her journey in painting relatively late—after raising her children - yet the world of creativity had accompanied her since childhood, when the first drawings appeared in the margins of her school notebooks. She studied painting privately and, over time, discovered her own artistic language: emotional, dynamic, and colorful abstractionism, with oil painting as its foundation.
Over nearly three decades, the artist has held more than 100 exhibitions in Lithuania (in Vilnius, Kaunas, Panevėžys, Jurbarkas, and other cities), and has also participated in group projects and plein-air sessions abroad: in Ireland (Dublin), Italy, Germany, Latvia, South Korea, and France. Her works have been exhibited at international art events, and her pieces have been acquired by collectors and art institutions both in Lithuania and abroad. In 2023, her exhibition “Life Full of Chaos” was presented at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Riga, and in 2024 - at the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.
Her art balances between abstraction and figuration. In some works, one can discern real motifs - landscapes, architectural elements, flower blossoms - yet they are always transformed through emotional and chromatic filters. In other pieces, the painter immerses herself in complete freedom of form and brushstroke, allowing paint to flow, spread, and merge unexpectedly, inviting the viewer to experience visual sensations and personal emotions.
Although she does not shy away from experimenting with various techniques - such as acrylic or watercolor - her chosen medium remains oil painting, which allows for deep layering, rich textures, and long immersion in the process.
Zita Jusevičiūtė-Tarasevičienė divides her life between Kaunas and Dublin - this duality of place, with its contrasting cultures and rhythms of nature, is often reflected in her works. Her studio in Kaunas has become a space where she dives into a meditative world of creation. Silence, color, rhythm, and inner voice are the foundations of her artistic environment.
Although she has received numerous requests to teach painting privately, she consciously declines - firmly believing that art arises not only from technique but, above all, from inner perception, something “given from above.” She calls her works her children, whom she gladly sends out into the wide world.
Her work has been described as intellectual, visually expressive abstractionism. According to art critic Dr. Remigijus Venckus, her painting is characterized by a dialectical tension between reality and simulation, between control and chance. Her art is a manifesto of postmodern painting, boldly opening up new frontiers of aesthetics, beauty, and imagination.

The painting showcases an ethereal scene full of movement and vivid colors. At the forefront, several figures dressed in flowing, vibrant attire that fans out around them appear to drift or float above a patchwork of abstract, earthy tones that suggest a crowded, chaotic marketplace or city. The garments of these figures are rendered in striking hues of orange, green, and teal, imbued with a sense of luminosity that makes them seem almost lit from within. In the background, amidst a blur of rusty reds, browns, and splashes of cooler blues and greens, silhouettes of traditional architectural structures loom, some defined and some melting into the whirl of colors. Overhead, the sky is a dramatic canvas itself, dabbled with dark blues, whites, and grays, evoking a stormy atmosphere that contrasts with the bright, lively colors below. The overall impression is one of dynamic flux, as if capturing a moment of transformation or passage through a vividly imagined dreamscape.
