Vytautas Koženiauskas Norberto, born in 1958, is a renowned artist and a fourth-generation resident of Kaunas, Lithuania. Deeply connected to his hometown, he is also blessed with a wonderful family whose continued support and inspiration mean a great deal to him. Since 2010, Vytautas has been a dedicated member of the Lithuanian Union of Craftsmen and Artists, reflecting both his skill and his substantial contribution to the local art scene.

Vytautas’s fondness for drawing and painting emerged early in his youth, dating back to his school years when he would create art even during mathematics classes. This lifelong passion has consistently guided him, profoundly shaping both his artistic approach and identity.

Once his children became independent, Vytautas was able to dedicate more time to his artistic interests and began painting on canvas. This phase marked the start of a more committed and intentional involvement with his craft, giving him the opportunity to further refine his style and skills.

Vytautas is particularly recognized for inventing a distinctive painting technique, developed through his experiments with diverse materials such as paint, earth, clay, herbs, rust, paper, and wood. Even today, this innovative method remains his favorite. For Vytautas, the greatest honor lies in knowing that people choose to adorn their homes with his work, which continues to inspire his creativity.

About this artwork+

This painting, titled "Open Book" by Vytautas Koženiauskas, uses a soft, dream-like style. It shows a large open book at the center. The colors are mainly blues and browns, creating a mystical feel. You can see abstract, ghostly figures on the pages of the book. The brushstrokes are loose, adding a sense of movement. The background is blurred, merging with the main image. The painting has an ethereal quality, inviting viewers to interpret it in their own way. The texture is rich, giving depth to the scene. Koženiauskas often uses these elements to convey emotion and mystery.
